Eyelashes, we ladies are obsessed with them and not for their cat like function as whiskers being sensitive to touch and closing reflexively to  protect the eye.... but more so with the mascara that defines them. 

Most days we go out of our way coat, thicken, lengthen our bare lashes before leaving the house and it can't be helped. Mascara is that little black coat of self confidence that enhances not only your eyes but your day. 

 

Over the years we (Kiss and Makeup staff) have all become equally obsessed with different mascaras as they fit our needs. Here’s our top picks of great Mascaras that live up to their hype:

RMS beauty defining mascara: A 100% all natural inky black formula with a delicate brush created through a blend of mineral pigments, plant based waxes and organic oils is a top choice for anyone with sensitive eyes. This mascara keeps lashes perfectly separated and defined. Just be sure to give at least 30 seconds to dry to avoid smudging it all over the place.

The use of mascara can be traced back to around 4000 BCwhen the ancient Egyptians used Kohl to darken eyelashes, lids and brows to mask the eye, believed to ward off evil sprits and protect the souls.

Mascara as we think of today was created by cosmetic pioneer Eugene Rimmel in the late 1800's. The word rimmel actually means mascara in many languages. Interestingly across the Atlantic and at roughly the same time, in 1913, a man named T. L.
