Stance was founded in 2009 in sunny San Clemente, California. The founders of Stance saw a category that had been ignored, taken for granted, looked over, and dismissed. Being used to seeing the usual white, grey black or argyle pattern socks everywhere they turned, the founders wanted to create change in the market. By creating life into something that had been overlooked, Stance ignited a movement of art and self-expression that has drawn athletes, performers, and iconic cultural influencers to the brand; including Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, and Will Smith and bands like Santigold, and Haim. Jay-Z loves Stance so much that he mentioned the brand in a recent song; "This ain't grey sweat suits and white tube socks. This is black leather pants and a pair of Stance." ... aka Jay-Z stamp of approval!
