There are so many reasons to love Rahua Hair care, and it's not only just the fact it does wonders to the hair and scalp.
The line itself has an amazing back story. It started deep in the Amazon rainforest thousands of years ago where the women of the Quechua-Shuar tribe discovered the beautifying properties of Rahua oil. They noticed how strong and shiny it made their hair and how soft and glowy it made their skin. This oil became their beauty secret for centuries!

Fast forward to the the 1990’s. Renowned New York City hairstylist & colorist Fabian Lliguin, (a native Ecuadorian of Quechua descent) learnt the secret of Rahua oil from the women of Quechua-Shuar themselves.
Fabian was so impressed he decided to test its potency on his own clients. This lead him to create the plant-derived hair care line that we now know as Rahua. With his wife, Anna Ayers, Amazon Beauty® was born through their shared passion to create luxurious, highly effective, and natural beauty products. This passion evolved and led them to become environmental activists dedicated to preserving the ecological treasures of the Amazon Rainforest.
It totally makes sense as to how my hair has transformed after using this product! Unlike other botanical oils or widely-used silicones that only coat the strands’ exterior (giving a false sense of hydration and nourishment), Rahua oil rather has a tiny molecule size that can deeply penetrate the hair's cortex! Say hello to gorgeous revitalized, and healthy hair.
I love the line even more after learning how passionately committed they are to creating the cleanest, most effective and sustainable products on the market. In fact Amazon Beauty® Inc. created its own standard called, Symbiotic®. This means ingredients can only be harvested from virgin forests in the Amazon and obtained using the same traditional methods used by Amazonian tribes for centuries. How amazing is that!?
What's more to love about the line? All Rahua products are vegan, organic, sulfate-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, cruelty-free and support indigenous economies. Now that is what I'm talking about!
